18 March 2011 is the most memorable day in my life. It started of just like any other day... where we've made plans to go down to Petaling Street for Dim Sum at Yuk Woo Hin. Didn't really fancy the dim sums there because they were a bit bland. I guess they do cater to the older generations in view of the history of this restaurant.
Anyway, after breakfast we went home and hubby went to work. I was contemplating whether to drive myself to Mid Valley to attend the Baby Fair or to get myself facial before I go into labour. While I was being indecisive and watching TV at the same time all of a sudden I felt a sudden gash of discharge expelled out from below. I quickly jumped out of bed hoping that I it will not leave any stain and quickly ran into the toilet only to realised that it wasn't the normal discharge. It was water! As I sat on the toilet bowl water was still coming out from below but I couldnt tell whether was it urine or my waterbag just broke!? Anyway, I decided to call hubby home and get to the hospital to check it out. I quickly get into the shower thinking that this could be my last shower for the month! Hubby reached home really quick! It was quite funny at that point where I was calm because I still don't know what to expect and for him could tell that he's adrenalin must be pumping real hard!
So we arrived at the hospital slightly before noon and went straight into the labour ward. The nurses got me changed to the hospital gown and they fasten the machine onto my belly to monitor baby's heartbeat and contractions. The midwife came in to check my below and it was painful!! She confirmed that my waterbag really broke. After lunch, the doctor came and I had to go through the same check up down below and I was practically biting the blanket! Anyway, the doctor said that he's still very high up and she don't forsee that he will be out anytime soon. She said to give it till tomorrow morning and we'll decide what to do. In the meantime she asked me to walk more hopefully baby will come down. So I got changed and started walking around the hospital with hubby. We even walked the staircase floor by floor. By evening, I started to feel some contractions. The pain was bearable and I thought this isn't so bad to start of with. Anyway, hubby was getting a bit worried and told me that I should consider C-Sect if baby is still not engaged when the doctor comes back to do her final rounds. He was explaining that if we wait till tomorrow and things are still not happening and end up performing C-Sect we might as well tell the doctor ahead rather than waiting till the last minute where things get even more complicated. I fully agreed with him...but deep down I was still hoping that I do not need to go under the knife....At about 6pm the doctor came and did her final check on me for the day and told me that baby is still not moving and she feels that the chances of him moving is very slim even if I wait till tomorrow as such the chances of me delivering him naturally is also very slim. Therefore, she suggested that I deliver him through C-Sect today.
The moment the doctor told me that my heart was racing. First, I was afraid of the epidural. Then I was afraid of the pain after the operation... the catheter...After that I was worried about removing stitches. Being under the knife is just outright scarry! Anyhow, the doctor manage to convince me. Well is not like I have a choice really! But since hubby is allow to be inside with me I just thought that I have him as my support.
Once I confirm I wanted to deliver via C-Sect they did all the necessary preparation. They wheeled me to first floor where all the operation theaters are. Hubby was not with me at this point in time. First stop was to get my drips in which I also I thought it was going to be painful having a needle stuck in me all the time but it was not as bad as I thought it would be. Then it was the epidural I know it because the anaesthetist asked me to lie on my side and curled up like a prawn. I guess the nurse saw my frightened face and came to hold on to me while I close my eyes and hold on tight to the pillow and keep telling myself that everything will be OK. I won't feel a thing after this and I get to see my baby finally! I must say that feeling was one that I will never forget! The pain I would say is as painful as getting the local anaesthetic when I had my wisdom tooth removed but only the pain was much longer...well a minute or two longer. After that my feet start to get pins and needles and before I know it my bottom half was already numb and I was shivering really bad which is one of the side effects of epidural.
After that, they wheeled me to the operation theater and I still don't see my hubby! Doctor came and told me that after they set up everything they will get my hubby in. While they were setting up they insert the catheter which I didn't feel a thing. After that, I saw hubby and what a relief! Doctor then asked if I felt anything because apparently she was actually pinching me really hard. So the operation started... I don't even dare to look up because I could see the reflection on the light. I just had my eyes looking at hubby... first he was pretty reassuring then all of a sudden he's eyes got bigger and started to see the whole procedure instead!!! After about 10 minutes or so, my baby boy is out! Suddenly I felt relieved to the extend that I actually felt sleepy. Maybe because I know everything will be OK. Hubby then follow baby to the nursery while doctor stitched me up and I got so worried that I might doozed off I fight to stay awake throughout the whole procedure. At about 7.50pm I'm out of the operation theater while they did some observation. They put a heater on top of me because I felt so cold and was shivering uncontrollablly. Finally, they wheeled me back to the maternity ward still can't feel my legs. I had 3 blankets and I'm still shivering. After all that, I felt pretty tired and yet I can't sleep.
Hubby told me that baby's heartbeat is a little bit irregular and the pediatrician said to put him in the incubator for observation. The doctor suspect that he's body just not accustomed to the outside temperature. They place a heater in the incubator to keep him warm hopefully that will regulate his heartbeat. At about 3am hubby went to check on him and the nurse said that he's heartbeat is back to normal and will be transferred to the normal nursery after the doctor check on him.
So back to my topic of is it true that if you have an easy pregnancy means you will go through hard labour? I mean my pregnancy was really easy compared to my friends...no morning sickness... I went for a holiday in Hong Kong... not much water retention and my belly only got really big towards the last month which means I only had difficulty moving around in my last month. But then again, C-Sect wasn't that bad if I think about. I didn't have to endure long hours of contractions and pushing. The only drawback is that the wound takes longer to heal. Will I still want to go through natural birth for my next child ? I would think so. Hey.. at least I know what epidural feels like now!

Am I Bored?
Some of you may probably be aware that I've been on my maternity leave since 1st March. All my friends who met up with me or called to check on me will ask am I bored? or What have I done for the week? Am I getting anxious about the delivery? Well, honestly somehow I don't feel bored. As a matter of fact I do enjoy it very much even on days where I just stayed at home and watch Channel E the whole day! Maybe I'm such a lazy person that all I want to do is just sleep and eat and watch TV.
For instance, since my last blog was on March 8th, let me try to refresh my own memory what I did on March 9th onwards.
March 9th - Wednesday
I was hungry when I woke up so hubby and I went for light breakfast because I already made plans to have lunch with my parents. Anyway, we decided to just walk outside our house to have roti canai and a cup of teh tarik. I was surprised that after finishing the cup of teh tarik I was so fulled! My parents came and pick me up for lunch at about 11.30am. Initial plan was to pick up my grandpa from Bukit Rimau and have lunch together. We arrived at his house about noon and while my mum was busy transferring some juice from her thermal flask for my grandpa and not sure what else she was doing so I sat there and chatted with my grandpa for while. Unfortunately, my uncle arranged someone to come and service the air-cond around lunch time so my grandpa said he will stay at home while we go ahead with our lunch and just to 'tar-pau' for him. We went to this restaurant called Pun Chun that is famous in Bidor that sells wanton noodles and duck noodles. I was still full from my breakfast so I decided to have the duck soup only and I took some wanton that my dad ordered for sharing. The wanton is huge and yummy! Another reason why I like it so much is that because it does not have pork inside. Just prawns and it's crunchy! After lunch we went back to my grandpa's house to drop off his lunch and we went back to my condo to drop off some stuff that my mum will be using during my confinement like sesame oil, blackbeans and I can't remember what else! After that, my parents dropped me back at PJ and I just relax for the rest of the day watching TV.
March 10th - Thursday
Hubby and I woke up quite late. Late as in nearly noon. Anyway, my FIL called asking whether do we want roast pork rice since he is going to buy back some. I immediately said yes because it's been a while since i had the delicious roast pork rice from Brickfields. After lunch, I took our maid to our condo for cleaning. Mind you the last round the condo was being cleaned was I think nearly 3 weeks ago! While, I was waiting for her to clean, I watched a movie that hubby bought from the DVD shop called Last 3 Days. It's quite a good movie I must say but certain parts was so dark that can't really see anything. Anyway, my BIL also came over to pick up the clothes dryer that came together with the condo. As usual, the maid did a very good job in cleaning our condo and we left after she's done and I rest for the rest of the evening.
March 11th - Friday
I remember we woke up early enough to have breakfast because my mum woke me up. I told hubby that I want to eat chee cheong fun. Just plain chee cheong fun with the sweet sauce. He was shocked because I'm never a chee cheong fun fan. Anyway, as usual hubby was very nice to go out and 'tar pau' for me and we had breakfast together before he left for work while I took a rest and about 11am I got ready to go out with my parents for lunch. We went to restaurant Lan Jie in Kota Damansara and had steam tilapia. I was shocked when I went into the restaurant because the patrons there order one fish to themselves! Anyway, we ordered 2 fishes, a plate of fried sweet potato leaves and kung po chicken. Then I realised why the patrons there ordered one fish to themselves because I myself finished 3/4 of the fish. The only part that I didn't eat is the stomach which I couldn't handle because of the bones. But other than that I finished everything! After lunch, we went to Sunway Giza because I wanted to buy milk and also because I have not been. So we were walking around that area also went into a shop selling baby stuff. My mum bought more mittens and booties for my son. On the way back, my dad stopped by a soya bean vendor and bought some herbal jelly. The herbal jelly is very good! After all that, I went home and slept till hubby came home from work. We also went out for dinner in SS2. We've been wanting to try this italian restaurant called Buenosera for quite some time but the last time we tried it was fully booked so we decided to give it another try. This time round we were lucky and manage to get a table. I must say the pizza is very good! After dinner, we went home and hubby and I went to our condo for the weekend.
March 12th - Saturday
Hmm... can't remember what time we woke up but I'm quite sure is quite late because I don't recall having breakfast on this day. Anyway, as usual we went back to PJ to pick up Russ for grooming and decided to go for Fish Head Beehoon in Kuchai Lama for lunch. Somehow the fish head beehoon is not as good as before. Well ironically we knew that it wasn't as good as before but yet we still return to the same shop for the same dish. Why? So far, this is the only fish head beehoon that we tried that really give us the fish head which I am still able to handle. Other stalls like the famous Woo Pin give all different parts of the fish and it comes with lots of small bones which I hate! Hubby also sent the car for grooming nearby because it's been a while since the car went for a shower! After picking up the car, we pick up Russ and head home. I was looking forward for dinner on this day because one of our friends invited us to his house. Well actually going to his house is one thing but what's serve for dinner is important! We decided to tar pau food from the pasar malam nearby his house and immediately I look forward to it because it's been a while since I went to pasar malam and it's been a while I had good bubble tea from the pasar malam and all the food! Anyway, the food was quite a disappointment. Maybe I had too high of an expectation. There's no tea in the bubble tea! Yes, even the original flavour that hubby ordered does not contain tea is made out of powder! And it was unfortunate that when the man made mine in a transparent shaker I saw that what he added was water and not tea! I also bought meehoon siam as my main meal. It was not too bad but I find it a bit too dry. Perhaps I was missing the meehoon siam in Perth... The assam laksa was also a flop. It smell so good that even hubby couldn't resist but after trying it was a total different story all together! Again, maybe we are comparing it to what we had in Penang near Kek Lok Si Temple. But at least the apom that I had wasn't too bad. After the feast, a girlfriend of mine came and pick me up and I must say great minds really do think alike! We didn't make any prior planning on where should we have our gossip session but both of us had same venue in mind which is Coffee Club in Fahrenheit 88! We were looking forward to the mud pie. I've always been addicted to it ever since I've tried it in Singapore. Everytime I'm in Singapore I must have their mud pie. When I saw that they are opening Coffee Club in KL I was so excited. I even got my galfriend hooked on it. But it was very unfortunate that it does not taste the same. Oh well, at least their fries was good!
March 13th - Sunday
We went to Sunway Pyramid because hubby wanted to get a hair cut so I took the opportunity to get a hairwash too! I like being pampered! Who doesn't right? Anyway, we went to Dragon-I for lunch where I told hubby all I want is the xiao loong pau and maybe some buns here and there. After lunch, we walked around Pyramid as the hair saloon was packed. After all the walking, we went back to the hair saloon and got our service and went home after that. As for dinner, we had a really really satisfying meal which is steamboat. We ate so much that both of us became so uncomfortable but yet satisfied.
March 14th - Monday
We couldn't think of anywhere to have lunch so hubby suggested we go to Low Yat for roast duck. Somehow the duck does not taste as good as before. In fact, I think the roast duck in Kuchai Lama taste better. But I must say their noodles are still very good. Anyway, I ordered fried rice with salted fish and chicken cubes but it turned out the fried rice was a bit wet so I didn't really enjoy it and more over the salted fish was not to my liking. Anyway, after lunch we went for a walk around the mall and we had drink with hubby's friend and went home after that. As for dinner, we had Mcdonalds! Yummy!
March 15th - Tuesday
Hubby couldn't wake up early so I decided to have waffles for breakfast. As usual, after hubby woke up we packed up and left our condo to return to PJ and since we couldn't think of anywhere to eat for lunch I suggested to have banana leaf outside our house. I just had capati with one fish cutlet because I am not very hungry. After lunch, hubby went to work while I stayed at home watching Channel E!
So I guess I better enjoy as much as I can before the confinement where I realised there's so much restrictions it can drive people insane and of course with the arrival of our son things will definietly be different.......

Still Counting Down to 'D' Day......
Good news good news! As mentioned in my previous post, baby was at a posterior position. We went for our check up this morning and the ultrasound scan shows that baby has flipped and is now right in the middle of my abdomen facing down. Yay!! Clever boy! But but but... now doctor said that he is still not in the position for labour because he's not "engaged" yet. So boyboy... now is the time to get "engaged" OK? We're nearly there!! Doctor's gut feeling that I should be in labour by end of next week. I'm getting so excited and nervous! Today, when doctor did a check up down there it was painful!! Can't imagine what it will be like during labour!
Anyway, baby finally got his car seat last weekend! Thanks to Aunty J and her gang. After nearly ransacking the whole shop to ensure we choose the best car seat for baby we decided to get the Recaro ProRide in Misty Colour. This car seat should last us from newborn till about 3 years old depending on how heavy baby will be. The car seat can last up till 32kg. Daddy was complaining that he don't even get such nice car seat. Although he's car does come with Recaro seats but it doesn't come with the 5 point seat belt and definietly not so much cushion!
Time to for the next step...to get baby to"engaged" and mummy to embrace labour!

What a Pampering Day!
I had brunch with hubby today. I told hubby that I felt like having Wanton Noodles so we went down to Petaling Street to have our favourite Wanton Noodles. This wanton noodles is not your typical really black wanton noodles but not to worry is still very very tasty! We ordered extra wantons too because you can never get such wantons anywhere! It seems that the wantons they added a little bit of salted fish in the filling so is very tasty! Yummy!
After lunch, hubby dropped me home and he went to work. I decided to go and settle some outstanding bills but because I do not have enough cash on hand so I decided to go to Mid Valley where I can go to the ATM machine and at the same time settle the bills at the post office. To my surprise ALL the parking in Mid Valley was FULL! I mean geeezz don't all this people need to work?? The traffic within Mid Valley was horrible as everyone is trying to get into the carpark but they are all closed! I decided to head to Bangsar Village instead. There were lots of people too but the crowd was still manageable. I went to the ATM first and then took a slow walk to the post office which is situated at the row of shops facing the housing area. The queue in the post office was really long. I waited for easily 30mins and then the teller told me that I can't pay the MPSJ 'Cukai Pintu' here. They told me that we can only settle this bill in February and July. Other months we need to go back to MPSJ. Anyway, luckily I stil have my TNB bill to settle. Otherwise I would have waited 30mins for nothing! On the way back to Bangsar Village I decided to pop into Eon Bank and asked whether can I settle the MPSJ bill there and thankfully I took that step because I can! Hooray!
After settling all the bills, I again took a slow walk back to Bangsar Village and decided to have some pampering session. I decided to have my manicure and pedicure done. Just went I was on the way to the nail saloon, I saw this new shop called Spring which sells maternity and baby items I decided to go in and have a look. Aahhhh I told myself why didn't I discover this shop earlier! They have so many nice maternity clothes and skirts and capri pants! All that I was looking for a couple of months ago! But anyhow, I couldn't resist and still bought some anyway. Well, the bottoms that I have now is getting really tight! Most of the time, I am wearing T-Shirts that are overly stretched. Just a few more won't hurt. Anyway, I can still wear them after I deliver! So I bought 2 spaghetti tops and 1 capri pants. By the way, the salesperson was really warm and friendly. I told myself if I need any nursing tops I will definietly come again to buy more!
After my shopping spree, I headed to the nail saloon and had my manicure and pedicure done. I didn't realised there were another nail saloon operated by the same owner one floor up. I was looking for a real pampering session but is just too bad the salesperson didn't tell me they have other service! Oh well, is their loss not mine! Anyway, eventhough it was the basic mani and pedi I still enjoyed myself. On top of that, I only had a clear coat on my fingers and coloured on my toes. I was thinking if I colour my fingers how am I going to clean it when I start my confinement since there's so many taboos here and there and more over coloured comes off easily on fingers.. I don't want to accidently add some paint into my baby's milk! Anyway, since it's a clear coat.. cleaning it before it wears off I won't feel so wasted which means I can clean it before I go into labour!
After my pampering session, I walked all the way to the old wing to buy a pretzel as I was getting a bit hungry and head back to the new wing walking up and down while eating my pretzel! I saw the time was close to 5pm so decided to leave hoping that I won't get stuck in the peak our traffic.
Hmmm.... I must say I still do enjoy not working..! Perhaps it will be a different story when I need to bring along my son with limited resources!

Counting Down to 'D' Day
According to my iPhone application, my estimated due date is in 2 weeks and 2 days as of today. I actually can't wait because my baby is getting heavier and heavier and it's very difficult to move around. But at the same time, I am also very nervous because I don't know what to expect on D day.
Yesterday, we went for our routine check up at Pantai Hospital. Doctor said that I am doing very well as thus far I've only put on about 10kg and the good news is that she said I should be able to get back to my original shape after delivery without any problems. However, after the ultrasound scan doctor mentioned that baby is doing fine also but is getting too big too fast. Last week, he weighs 2.7kg and this week he is weighing at 3.1kg! Looks like I have to lay off Mcdonalds for the time being... but...but why NOW? They are having double fillet o fish! Maybe I should have one last one before I go on a diet!
Another concern from the doctor is that he is at a position now that is not ideal for delivery. He is now lying very comfortably on my right side and facing my abdomen. Scientifically is called posterior position which means the baby is head down but facing my abdomen. The most ideal position for delivery is to be on the left side and in an anterior position which means head down but facing my back. The reason being is that when the baby is in a posterior position the head circumference is bigger than when the baby is facing my back. Therefore, sometimes their head may get stuck during labour. But since the doctor said that I still have time, now I will need to talk to my baby and try to get my baby to flip.
Crossing my fingers that baby will be in the right position when he decided to come out. Boyboy... remember to turn to my back before you decide to come out ok?! Otherwise mummy will be in a lot alot of pain!

Maternity Leave--Day 2
Today, we woke up early because we had an appointment with our insurance agent to discuss about insurance for our son. Our agent is also hubby's ex-collegue and a very nice friend. Anyway, she was also sharing her experience with us as she's also considered a new mom. She really did enlighten me when she talk about her labour experience. She said it till the extend that it was such a joyful and funny experienced! She also shared her experienced about buying things for her son. I guess all new parents to be will have to learn by making mistakes especially when comes to buying bulky items like strollers and car seat and even clothes!
After our appointment, hubby went to work and I called up the urut lady to enquire about her service. She said she can meet me at 2.30pm because she's in Subang area so I head to Empire to buy myself lunch. I bought home sandwich and a cup of smoothie and again had my lunch while watching TVB dramas. I told myself I can do this everyday!
Anyway, the urut lady arrived about 2pm. She waited for me at the main entrance to the shopping mall below my condo. So I took her up to my condo and she started to explain that I can either engage her for 7 days or 14 days or even longer ! I will also need the cream and a bangkung. A girlfriend of mine lend me hers so I do not need to buy the bangkung. I paid her RM300 as deposit and she told me to either SMS her or call her when I'm admitted to the hospital and then call or SMS her when I'm back at home. She said urut can start either 4th or 5th day after delivery. The earlier the better. She even mentioned that first time urut may be a bit painful but after that it will be more relax and after 4th or 5th time I should be able to see some slimming result. She suggested that I try out for 7days first and if I feel comfortable and would like to continue another 7days for slimming then I can inform her then.
After the urut lady left, I continue watching my TVB drama and it started pouring heavily. I was suppose to return to my office to pass my airport pass to my collegue for him to renew it for me but in the end I dragged till about 5-ish and I just passed the documents to my collegue at the lobby of my office. Seems like this early day off is making me very lazy....!

A Brand New Life Chapter............
I started my maternity leave yesterday. Yup.... baby is considered full term now and like how my friend will put it I can 'pop' anytime now! Anyway, why the early start on my maternity leave? Well, since everyone been warning me about the sleepless nights ahead, the struggle at labour and whatever not..... I decided to take two weeks off and pamper myself by doing nothing but to rest and relax at home and to do the final preparation before the arrival of our son.
Well, the first day wasn't exactly I would call it rest and relax. No doubt that I slept all the way till about 11 and as usual baby woke me up telling me that he's hungry. I freshen up and decided to have pizza pockets for my brunch together with my orange juice and enfamama infront of the TV watching my TVB dramas. Anyway, hubby woke up later than me by the way! The privilege of working for yourself ! So he woke up around noon and asked me to follow him around running errands so since I have nothing to do why not? We stopped by to have lunch first... yes eventhough I've been repeatedly telling him that I am very full I still had half a bowl of handpulled pan mee while hubby ordered char kuey teow. After lunch, hubby started running his errands. First stop was USJ then we went to Saujana Club to pick up his membership card. After that, we decided to head to Gardens to get my nursing bra to complete packing my 'runaway' bag. Hubby is getting very excited as D day draws closer. He even mentioned that if I don't answer my mobile phone after trying twice he will assume that I check myself into the hospital and he will head straight there to look for me. I am speechless.... By the way my 'runaway' bag is now perpetually in my car boot. Eventhough I've mentioned that is nothing like in the movies... there should be time for us to gather our belongings and drive to the hospital in a calmly manner and that baby won't just decided to pop out ... there will be pain first which doesn't last too long (I hope) he said how do I know? Again I am speechless.....
Anyway, back to my first day of maternity leave, we went back to our condo to pack up and drop our stuff back in PJ and head straight to Gardens to buy my nursing bra from Mark & Spencer. It took me so long because I just couldn't get the right fit! Either it is too tight around me or the cup size is too big. Aaarrgh ! Anyway, I just bought one set (comes in 2) which is comfortable but my breast doesn't fill up the cup size at the moment. I thought who cares since I will be at home during my confinement anyway! I will decide later what to do if it really doesn't fit. After that we bought Big Apple donuts for tea-time and headed home before the peak hour traffic starts. I even manage to take cat nap right before dinner.
Nowadays, hubby knows that I will request for supper and so around 10.30-11.00pm every night he will asked me whether do I need any food. Last night I was a little bit hesitant because to be honest I was actually craving for Mcdonalds Double Fillet-O-Fish! But because I had it less than one week ago I felt guilty having it again! So anyway, I told him let's see whether the porridge at Petaling Street is still open so we went. Unfortunately, we couldn't find any parking closeby so we decided to adjourn to Pudu to have Teo Chew porridge instead. After supper, both baby and I were so satisfied that it didn't take us very long to fall asleep!

I Hate Constipation!!
Last Tuesday I had a very dramatic episode in the toilet. It will be one of those moments which I will never forget and I wish that it will never happen to me again! As some of you probably aware... I've been having constipation throughout my pregnancy. It was very much better especially during the 2nd trimester all the way till recently where I have difficulties again....
Anyway, just went I wanted to update my blog last Tuesday I had the urge to go to the loo to do "big business". I was happy because I couldn't go for the last 2 days. So just went I thought finally I can go without much strained....boy was I wrong! The stools were so hard that after the whole ordeal I knew I was bleeding.
Instantly, I panic and didn't know what to do. Hubby was out with his friends so I didn't have anyone to get reassurance from. So I just shut down the computer and lie on the bed thinking what are the possibilities that it will affect my son. Anyhow, I did really strained myself in the loo. All sorts of weird thoughts came to mind. I went to the toilet to double check again and there were still pinkish spotting on the tissue. I thought OK maybe it will heal by tomorrow. I told hubby about it when he came home. He even asked me if I needed to go to the hospital. I told him that I'm not in pain so I said to give it another day and decide from there.
Yesterday, while at work the spotting was on and off. I even checked with a friend to get some reassurance since she's an experienced mother. She said there shouldn't be anything to worry about and suspect that I could be having haemorrhoids. Anyway, I thought by today the spotting should stop.... unfortunately this morning I still see it.
I even double checked again before calling the doctor and there were still blood stains on the tissue. I called the clinic and wanted to speak to the dr but she was with a patient. The nurse was very kind to ask whether I wanted to leave a message for a doctor. I told her that I am bleeding and would like to speak to the doctor. She asked if I am pregnant and I said yes. She told me that in that case the doctor would usually like to see the patient personally and the nurse was very kind to offer me to go in without an appointment (my appointment was supposed to be tomorrow) and she said she will slot me in when I arrive.
I woke hubby up this morning and told him that about the doctor's appointment and asked whether he can accompany me to the clinic. He agreed and we left the house about 9.15am. When we arrived we were so lucky to find a parking right infront of the clinic and there were no patient when I went in. As usual, I took my urine test and immediately went in to the doctor's room and explained my situation. She took my weight and check on our baby. Thank goodness, everything is fine. Placenta is not low which is a good sign and baby heartbeat is normal. He is growing according to schedule so what a relief! Anyway, he's head is still not 'engaged' yet according to the doctor and he is 36weeks and 4 days today. Doctor said she will check on my vagina and may need to do a swab test which is painless.
She said couldn't see any bleeding, but saw there's a lot of white discharge and it could potentially be an infection. So she did a swab test and it wasn't painless!! Either that region down there is super sensitive or I was so nervous that it became painful! I was thinking that pap smear wasn't that painful! Anyway, thank god everything is OK and the result for the swab test will be out in 3 days. So hopefully everything will be normal when the results are out. She even gave me some mild laxatives as she doesn't want me to strain in the toilet anymore.
Although... I am still very confused as I still see spotting today! Where is it coming from? Where ever it is....Please go away!

Exhausted Mummy & Active Baby
I know... I know... I shouldn't be complaining that my baby is getting more and more active these days especially during the night but baby been so active that he wakes me up in the middle of the night! Anyway, last week both of us were very tired. Sad to say daddy's grandma passed away peacefully at home last Tuesday.
Nevertheless, we are all very proud of her to be able to live up to 97 years old without much complains except for the last few years where she's just being a typical old lady. The wake was held at our house in PJ and there were so many relatives from all over came back and some of them were sleeping at our place. So daddy told mummy and baby to go back to our condo to have proper rest. Mummy and baby continue going to work during the day and after work we drive back to PJ to attend the wake... well not really attend I was just there taking care of the 'pak kum' most of the time and then around midnight we will drive ourselves back to Subang again. This went on from Tuesday through till Friday. We didn't return back to Subang on Friday because we had an early start on Saturday for the funeral so baby and I stayed back in PJ on Friday night. On Saturday, all of us woke up very early and prepare for the funeral. Baby and I joined in the prayers too to say our last good bye to grandma/greatgrandma. After prayers we adjourned to Nirvana to perform the last ritual.
Some cousins and relatives came back to our house for vegetarian lunch. Baby and I had bread instead. We even manage to bring Russ for grooming. After some of the relatives left, we decided to take a nap before going back to the groomers to pick up Russ even daddy joined us on our sleeping session. Baby and I went to pick up Russ from the groomers because daddy was too tired. Anyway, when we arrive home daddy was already awake. We chatted with the relatives for a while before driving back to Subang for the weekend.
So the above explains why the mummy is exhausted. As for active baby, well what I can conclude is that baby is obviously getting bigger and there's not much room for him to move around. So whenever he starts moving I can feel it very strong that at times it wakes me up from my sleep. Sometimes, I can't even eat properly because I felt that something is blocking the food from going down. At times, while I was trying to enjoy my TVB he will start to move around which at the end I couldn't find a comfortable position on the sofa. At times, he likes to play with daddy. I think he can sense when daddy trying to play with him by pushing my stomach and he will push back sometimes. Sometimes it gets quite rough that I myself can't take it! I noticed that he moves alot when I'm having my lunch and also just before I finish work around 5-6 in the evening. After that he will be quiet until when I lie on the bed getting ready to sleep he will be wide awake!
Ahh...the joy of being a preggers.... less than a month to go! Yayyyyyy!

34 Weeks & 6 Days
Frankly, I've been starting to count down to D-Day. We are getting so excited preparing for the arrival of our son. Even though I'm not sure what to expect on D-Day but like my mum said all women go through it! So I'm quite sure I can go through it without any problems! I have also decided that epidural will be my last resort. I sincerely hope that I do not have a pro-long labour.
If the EDD is correct, in 5 weeks time we should be able to meet our son and our sleepless nights will begin. Today, we went to Pantai Hospital for check up. It was a long long wait but after looking at the ultrasound is all worth the wait. Doctor said everything is going very well. Baby is growing at the rate that he should be weighing about 2.3kg. The ultrasound shows that the head is facing downwards towards my pubic area but still not engaged yet. The legs are right where my ribs are! No wonder it gets so uncomfortable when he starts to move..but everytime he moves I will always have a smile on my face because I know that he's doing well and he's just trying to stretch. It is getting a bit cramp in there. Doctor was also explaining to us when should we check in for labour. She told us that every now and then I will feel my belly tightening. The tightening will last about 45 seconds or so and it is not painful. She assured us that there's nothing to be worry about. We should start timing it when the tightening is consistently painful because is a sign that labour is beginning. She mentioned that if the tightening/contraction is 10mins apart we should be heading to the hospital. Doctor also mentioned that, some women may bleed which we call it a show. She also reassured us that is no big deal. She told us that only to go to the hospital if it is accompanied with contraction. Nevertheless, if we are unsure, we can still go to the hospital and get the mid wife to strap us up and she will be able to determine whether am I in labour or otherwise. The last thing that might happen is when the waterbag pops. She even explained that when the waterbag breaks is a continuous trickle down our legs and really wet. When this happen is best that we check into the hospital as once the waterbag breaks and if labour is still not coming along we may need to be induced to prevent any infection.
After today's check up it is very clear that I may be in labour anytime soon! Hubby even started packing my runaway bag. Time really flies.... not sure to be worried or excited for labour!

Welcome to the Year of the Rabbit!!
Gong Xi! Gong Xi! Honestly, this year not much mood for Chinese New Year... why? Because I didn't get to buy lots of new clothes to wear. Well not that I buy lots of clothes every year but at the very least the whole set from top to toe, in and out that can last at the very least 2 days. The main reason is because I'm now 8 months pregnant and I'm not willing to spend so much on maternity clothing which I know I will not wear after I deliver. In the end, I only manage to get a pair of shoe, a denim skirt, legging and bra.
Every year, on the first day of CNY we have a fixed set of routine to follow. We will wake up early and get ready for our visiting. Usually, we will not have breakfast at home first but this year because I get really hungry when I wake up so I decided to have breakfast at home. My in-laws also prepared breakfast which consist of mee sua soup which I didn't eat and choose to have bread instead. Little did I know that it is a tradition for Hokkiens to have mee sua on the first day of CNY to represent longevity. Oh well, as I mentioned in my earlier posts, I am still having my set of breakfast ie orange juice, milk, papaya so with all that somehow mee sua just don't seem to fit in. More over, I really don't fancy having noodles for breakfast. The only Asian breakfast I can take is Roti Canai or Nasi Lemak.
Anyway, after breakfast we left the house and headed towards Klang. The first house that we visited is our 5th grand aunt's family. She's a very warm and kind hearted lady. First thing she offered is to have breakfast again! She fried some vegetarian bee hoon and boiled barley with gingko nuts and longan. My FIL continue chit chatting with the rest of the family while hubby and I watch TV in the living room. My SIL managed to catch up with us and all we do is just watch tv and wait for the green light to leave for the next house.
Second house that we visited in Klang is 1st grand aunt's family. This year they are mourning but we still visit just to see how she's coping with the lost of her husband recently. Again, the younger generations will have our own little session while waiting for my FIL comforting our grand aunt. The topic in this house was how she manage to clean all the figurines without a maid. Imagine the amount of display items she has we have estimated that if she cleans it one a day it will take her more than a year!
At about 11.30am we adjourned to 7th grand aunt's family. Every year, they will have an open house luncheon. Therefore, we are there every year for lunch. The lunch is prepared by their house maid and at the same time they also cater Satay which is delicious! The must have is the chicken pie... yum yum! I used to love the sambal sotong but somehow this year I'm not sure whether is it my pregnancy or my taste bud has changed as I find it too spicy for my liking. After lunch, is time to go home to rest and get ready for dinner.
We used to eat out for dinner on the first day of CNY. However, since last year we all have decided not to because we are all very bored with the set menu offered by chinese restaurants. We decided to have pot luck. I cooked chili mussels with garlic bread. My eldest SIL cooked shepperd's pie while my 2nd SIL cooked lamb stew. We also had imported roast pork from Philippines. All of us agreed that all this are much better than the 10 course dinner. The kids enjoyed a few rounds of X Box Kinect till the extend that they do not want to go home.
Second day of CNY, we have lunch at another relative house in Shah Alam. Usually, this family will have open house for dinner but plans changed this year. Anyway, we had fried "rice cake", porridge, fried tang hoon, loh bak, pie tee and for dessert I had sago gula melaka. As for dinner, we just had simple dishes at home.
Third day of CNY, again we went out for lunch with more relatives. We went to Rakuzen in Empire. One of the relatives also brought some fried 'new year cake' with yam. One of my favourite food during CNY besides from all the pineapple tarts, kuih kapit and fried arrowroot chips. As for dinner, we planned to have BBQ. Unfortunately, it was pouring really bad and we had to change our plans. We end up cooking the marinated meat on the stove and we used the hot plate to cook some bacon to preserve the heat for the cooked meat. Even though our plans changed at the very last minute we all still enjoyed ourselves. My eldest SIL made some really good salad! Well I must say she have not failed in any of her salad! While my second SIL made jacket potato. Haven't have them for ages! Reminds me of my favourite from Oliver Sandwich. Jacket potato with sour cream and bacon bits! Lovely!! As for dessert we had mango puding with nata de coco and ice cream potong.
Fourth day of CNY, we decided to have something light. We decided to go Alexis in Gardens to have lunch. I ordered a caesar salad while hubby ordered his favourite Alexis burger. I also ordered bread and butter pudding as my dessert. Yummy!! My FIL also joined us for lunch. He ordered a smoked salmon sandwich. After lunch, we went into Robinson for a walk before we head home and rest for dinner. We had dinner at Green View in SS2 with some relatives. We had their specialty which is 'Sang Har' Noodles. We also ordered some lala, chicken, suckling pig, sea cucumber and steam cod fish.
After the fourth day, things start to mellow down. We decided to head back to Subang to stay over and because I took leave for 2 days I make full use of it by resting at home! Phew.... what a week it was!

Eat...Eat...Eat...Sleep...Eat
This blog was suppose to be written last week but I've been really lazy and was not in the mood of blogging. Partly also because hubby was at home early the whole of last week so I'm just happy to relax and enjoy the company of my hubby watching TV together while my son occassionally give us his moves in my tummy which can be quite entertaining for both of us.
Last Thursday was a public holiday and we decided to have an eating trip together with my fil. As usual, baby woke me up in the morning around 9ish and as always I will be hungry the moment I wake up so we decided to walk to the indian restaurant just outside our house for breakfast. At 11.30am we went to Yut Kee for lunch but we didn't have a heavy one because we plan to go for second round somewhere else. We arrived at Yut Kee slightly after 1200 and it was already full house! Luckily, we didn't had to wait too long but the down side was we had to share table. So anyway, we ordered their famous dishes which is Hainanese pork chop, Hai Lam Mee and also steam bread with butter and kaya. The bread was not too bad but I would much prefer if they use the old fashion type of butter and not individually packed Anchor brand butter. As for the kaya I personally find that the one bought by one of our relative was much nicer. Overall I would say their standard has dropped tremendously especially the Hai Lam Mee. It was very obvious that it was pre-cooked because when it was served it wasn't hot and the noodles was soggy. But I must say the chili that goes with the noodles is really good. We also take away their famous kaya swiss roll which we find that the taste is still OK but the size of the roll has shrunk tremendously.
We then continue our makan journey to somewhere near Selayang... I think! Anyway, this shop is famous for it's fish ball noodles and it was previously located very closeby Yut Kee. When hubby first brought me there for their fish ball noodles it was in an old shack in Jalan Yap Ah Shak...really hot and crowded with a man who takes our orders and when he relay back to the kitchen we have no idea what he's talking about! It was closed down few years back and we couldn't find where it was located until last week when I was just trying my luck by google-ing and wah lah I found it! They have upgraded from an old shack into a nicely renovated shop with air condition, marble tables and most importantly the shop looks clean. This fish ball shop is now call Fish Ball Mee KNL restaurant. We manage to locate the shop by using our gps and it was a pretty long drive all the way from Yut Kee. We ordered a bowl of fish ball, mee with 'char yuk' and a bowl of tau foo pok. The fish ball is not as good as before in terms of texture but the taste is still quite similar to what I've tasted when they were back in the shack. I didn't like the 'char yuk' and not sure about the tau foo pok because I'm not a fan of tau foo pok.
After our second round of luncheon, we headed home to rest and discuss what's for dinner. I had cravings for waffles at waffle world so the initial plan was to try this new restaurant near paramount which is famous for their claypot fish head and head to 1 Utama for waffles. Well, hubby and I was so tired from all the eating so we decided to take a nap. Well not sure if you call it a nap because when we woke up is actually time for dinner. Anyway, we ditched the idea of going two places so we went straight to 1 Utama to have dinner and I decided to give Sri Melaka a try. Nothing to rave about our dinner and because I was so looking forward to having waffles, I kept my stomach some room for waffles.
After waffles, we went to my sil house to deliver the swiss roll and chatted till about midnight and I was exhausted!

Ooops! What A Shameful Accident !
Yesterday I had the most embarassing pregnant moment ever which I will never forget! I've read a few pregnancy books and also from google-ing online that at times pregnant women can't really hold their pee. Initially I thought nah... it won't happen to me I mean I've been going to the loo quite frequent already to empty my bladder so that this won't happen!! O.M.G this is how it all started....
As usual, every morning I will have my routine work in the office and I will usually go for my toilet break around 11.30am and usually by then I will be quite desperate to relieve my bladder. Unfortunately, the cleaning lady decided to change her schedule and when I went to the loo she was cleaning it. So i walked back to my office and I had a shocked of my life! The moment I open the office door which I need to pull I suddenly felt that I leaked! YES! I didn't know what to do but to continue walking back to my workstation and thinking hmmm could it be extremely heavy discharge or is my pee! I was crossing my fingers that let it be really heavy discharge but I know deep down it wasn't! Obviously, I couldn't concentrate on my work anymore and can't wait for the cleaning lady to finish cleaning the loo so that I can go and find out how bad it was! Well Thankfully it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and used lots of tissues trying to dry my undies. Obviously, the rest of the day I just can't wait to go home because I felt so uncomfortable and felt so ashame eventhough I did not mention a word to my collegue! Lesson learnt... do not wait till the last minute to relieve my bladder especially in public!

Can't Wait To See My Son!!
Hubby went out for "yum cha" session with his buddies leaving me all alone at home with my baby and my beloved Russ so I decided to update my blog since I haven't been doing so for about a week now. I had my mind set to share with everybody what my baby looks like in my tummy now with the 4D scan that I just took last check up but guess what!?!?! The scanner is not working!! AAaarrgghhh!
Somehow the computer just can't detect that there's a scanner being installed and so I decided to search online for the driver to install it and after several attempts of downloading various files it still doesn't work! I even downloaded a driver which when I double click on it to install, it is all in chinese characters!
Anyway.. shall not waste anymore time and I will get hubby to settle it later. Anyway, last week check up was quite interesting. First of all Dr said that my weight gain is really good. She was really supportive by saying that if I maintain what I have been doing and not to fluctuate my weight too much I shouldn't have any problems delivering my baby naturally and it should be an easy delivery. Yayyyy!! The scanning was good fun too because I requested for a 4D scan. Unfortunately, the umbilical cord is right infront of the baby so all we could see is the side view of him. Ahhh but is good enough. Dr also mentioned that everything is going well with baby and he's going to be a "long" baby. Judging from his length, he is 2 weeks ahead of an average baby size. Let's hope all my drinking of Enfamama pays off because is quite a torture to drink them every morning but when I think of my baby I make sure I have one cup a day. Baby next time you must sayang mummy and not be a rascal ok? Can't wait for my next appointment which is in 2 weeks time. Yeah... Dr said from now on we will have check up every 2 weeks.

29 weeks and 3 days
According to my iphone application "What to Expect" baby is due in 10 weeks and 4 days. Can you imagine? Well I can't! It seems like it was just few months back that I'm announcing to everyone that I'm pregnant and now I have less than 3 months to go!
With that in mind of course I've been doing a lot of research on pain relief and stages of labour... and of course asking around from experienced mothers. Sometimes, I worried so much that I will just wake up in the middle of the night and start to imagine what it will be like! I know is getting crazy but I can't help but imagine whether can I handle it when the day comes.
This morning hubby woke up early (usually he is still sleeping after I leave the house for work). Anyway, I was just reminding him that our check up is this Friday and then I asked him to guess how many months is our baby. He said 6 months! Then of course I proudly said that baby is 7 months old now. Hubby said he's also getting very anxious and I told him yup me too! I told him that I am also very scared for the labour and gave him this wild idea. I told him that we need to stock up on TVB dramas for me to watch while I'm in labour! He laughed and asked how am I going to watch it? I said well we can play it through the laptop. He said that I won't be able to concentrate on the drama.. well I don't care.. I am still going to give it a shot! My thinking is that rather than not doing anything and then I'll probably end up concentrating on the pain... I might as well have some other distractions right?
Well baby has been very active lately. Kicking...punching...tossing and turning I think! I don't exactly know what he's doing inside but I can really feel him moving every now and then. Recently, he likes to move actively around 3-ish in the morning which sometimes is so strong that I will be awake and I have to calm him down in order for me to continue my sleep! Another time that he's particularly active is while I'm at work around 5pm. Other than that, I noticed that during lunch time while I'm eating sometimes he will move around... but I realised from the time I'm awake till lunch time I assume he's sound asleep! Hmmm... I hope he doesn't have our bad sleeping habits!

Gastric or Something Else?
Last Sunday, I woke up around 9ish feeling really hungry but felt really tired so I decided to continue sleeping. I finally woke up around noon and started having this really uncomfortable cramp like feelings just below by breast and above my belly. So the first thing that came to mind is gastric. For the whole day I regretted not waking up the first round to have something light to bite knowing that I was really hungry.
Anyway, we decided to go out for lunch so I suggested to go Summit in USJ because I just found out that there is a Babyland there. So I thought why not since I've decided to buy the Medela Swing Breast Pump. So we had lunch at Black Canyon but boy I really didn't have much appetite but I thought I should eat slowly and hopefully the gastric will go away. After lunch, we were walking looking for Babyland and in between we went into some sports shop which I suspect that the Nike shoes they are selling are not genuine. Anyhow, because it's cheap I bought one pair of slip-ons from them. After buying the breast pump from Babyland I told hubby that I want to go home because I was really not up to walking anymore. All I felt like doing is just lie down and curl up into a ball because the cramps that I'm feeling comes and goes. Anyway, before we left just to satisfied our urge for coffee we went back to Black Canyon to have a cup of coffee each.
We spend the rest of the day at home watching the series Lie To Me till dinner time. In between I was tossing and turning trying to find the most comfortable position and as usual baby was also doing his rounds of exercise routine inside punching, kicking, moving around. I must say recently I noticed that baby's movements are getting stronger and stronger and I'm so happy that finally hubby can share the same experience as me. I can tell that he gets so excited everytime he felt baby moved. Sometimes, he will even try to play with baby by poking my stomach! But so far baby only responded to him once. Most of the time, he had to put his hand on my belly for quite sometime before he can feel it.
Anyway, back to my "gastric" episode well besides from feeling the cramps..I had diarrhea too! Thankfully the cramps was not as bad on Monday so I still manage to go to work. The diarrhea still maintains for the whole day. Then suddenly it strike me could it be something else? I was thinking to myself maybe the cramp like feelings is actually not gastric. Maybe it is Braxton Hicks contractions. I mean I am in my final trimester now. So once again, I started google-ing about Braxton Hicks contractions and realised that the result I find mostly says that it is painless and you feel your stomach hardens for just few seconds. Then I started to touch my tummy and felt oh no I can't tell the difference because certain time of the day it always feels hard! Then I continue searching and then it somehow links to pre-term labour which one of the signs says diarrhea! Then I got really worried and started thinking hmmm cramps + diarrhea not a good sign. I thought to myself give it another day and if I still feel the cramps I should call the Dr to ask about it.
Today is already Wednesday and thankfully I did not feel any more cramps today but still had a little bit of diarrhea. Then suddenly my brain function properly and I laughed to myself how can I be in labour when the cramps are above my stomach! If it was a real contraction I should be feeling it at my belly right? I mean if the information online is correct it should feel like menstrual cramps then it should be just above the pubic area. Silly me! Worried for nothing!!

27 weeks and 4 days..........
Yay....I'm so proud of myself that I went through 1st and 2nd trimester without much problems. I don't know about my hubby that seems to be complaining to my friends ever since I am pregnant. It started of with my ever changing cravings for food which to me it wasn't a big issue! I heard that there are some preggers who go to the extend of asking their partners to drive like miles away just to buy some particular food and mine was just Mcdonalds! It's always around the corner somewhere!
Then once I entered into 2nd trimester he started saying that I'm clumsy. Yeah I mean I do have butter fingers at times but not ALL the time. As for the bruises on my thighs or legs or arms, I get bruises from knocking over something even before I was pregnant anyway! So no difference to me. So other than that, my cravings for Mcdonalds still maintain just that it upgraded from a Fillet O fish to a Double cheeseburger yummy! Not bad for a first time preggers right?
Well, now that I'm in my 3rd trimester, honestly really getting very excited and worried at the same time. Excited because I can't wait to see my baby boy...Worried..oh boy what's labour like? It will always remain as a big question mark till the day comes. First, I will think how do I know whether I'm in labour? Then once it is confirm I've been thinking to have epidural or not. I read about the procedure of an epidural and OMG it gives me the shivers down my spine! But then again friends been telling me that the labour pain is so great and intense that we can't feel the epidural procedure. Is that true? Shall I just be strong and just go with normal pain killers? Some even tell me that there are possibility that with epidural we can't feel how to push when the time comes! So many thoughts run through my mind that I get cold feet at times.
Besides from labour, we still have a few more things that we have not bought like the car seat, breast pump, diapers, wet tissues, cottons, powder and the lists goes on and on! On top of that, since I will be staying in the Condo after giving birth, the condo doesn't seem to be equip enough. Number 1... I will definietly need a washing machine and thinking where to put it is also another problem. No 2.. is time to set up the dryer since we can't hang clothes at the balcony which I also don't intend to do it because clothes hung on our balcony is as good as not washing it! It will be full of dust from federal highway! No 3.. I must have an internet connection.
So, baby's daddy... please look into it yeah? Love ya!

Sleepless Night....yawwnnnn!
Last night was the first night that I was awaken not because I need to pee but I was awaken by my baby boy. Not too sure what makes him so active last night that I was tossing and turning to get the most comfortable position to fall asleep and he did the same inside me too! Well the difference is that he was playing inside more than trying to fall asleep.
I've tried lying down on my right side it was OK for a while but then I started to feel ticklish on my right tummy maybe because my tummy was lying against the bed. So I switch to the left, oh boy at one point in time i could feel as if there's thunder in my stomach! He's move in my stomach last night was pretty strong and when I put my hand on my tummy I could felt my stomach moved quite vigourously.... Maybe because of this reason I got more and more awake at 4am! I even tried lying on my back but that was not comfortable at all because after a while I started having backache. I think for about an hour or more I was trying all sorts of position and trying to calm him down by stroking my stomach and finally I could feel that he's sound asleep and so did I......
I must say eventhough when the alarm rang this morning and I was so reluctant to get out of bed for work I still woke up with a smile on my face thinking back what I went through in the middle of the night with my hubby snoring beside me. I guess this is one of the moments that I will not forget about my pregnancy....

A Step Closer to Final Trimester
Last Friday we went for baby's monthly check-up in Pantai Hospital, Bangsar for the first time. The wait was really long but thankfully we manage to occupy our time by exploring the hospital. Anyway, we reached there about 9.15am and the nurse took my blood pressure, weight and requested for my urine and asked us to come back later at about 11am because I am actually number 10 in line.
So we requested to view the labour ward since we have so much time to kill. The nurse was very kind to assist us to call the labour ward and guide us the direction to the labour ward. The moment we reach there we were greeted by another really friendly nurse showing us two different wards. Well according to her there's only 2 wards not occupied at that time. The first room is the single room with attached toilet. I was taken aback the moment I stepped in, because firstly the bed doesn't look comfy at all and there's so many wires hanging everywhere honestly kind of freak me out. So we went to the second room which is the suite. The difference with the suite it comes with a sofa. Oh by the way, I manage to see the water birth pool in the suite. It's exactly like what I saw on discovery channel. Of course if we do not intend to use it, it will be removed and the room will look much more like a suite. I have yet to decide which room I will want to go through labour in but definietly not the suite because it is way way to costly.
After the visit, we asked about ante-natal classes and the nurse referred us to Sister Elizabeth. So we went to look for her and had a long and informative chat. First she was explaining what all the classes is all about. Briefly as below:-
Session 1 Breastfeeding & childhood survival / feature of newborn
Session 2 Process of labour / tour of delivery suite / post natal ward
Session 3 Miracle of stem cell / care of newborn
Session 4 Pain relief in labour / nutrition in motherhood
Session 5 Prenatal exercise
After all that she was very nice to give us some tips on what type of clothing to buy for newborn and what type of car seat. She even explained that the best way to bath your baby is to put the tub ontop of our dining table is the best! Initially, we were very proud that we didn't had to go to that extend but after listening to her we felt a bit foolish because we totally didn't think about what happen after the baby bath! Sister was asking us if our stand is just enough for the tub then what happens when the bath is over. How do we dry the baby? She further explained we can't carry with one hand and wrap the towel because baby is very slippery. It is also very dangerous to carry a wet baby around. So best is to have a place right next to the tub so that we can dry and dress the baby before moving him around. Looks like we will need to move the tub with the stand into the bedroom instead.
Anyway, looks like we should be more clear after attending the classes which will commence next month. After our long chat, we still had half an hour to kill so we decided to have a drink before going back to see the doctor. We check out the cafeteria and I got sucked into ordering the waffles.. Oh my god it taste like homemade pancakes! I think the next time, we will just stick to starbucks.
At 11am we went back to the specialist area and waited for about 15 to 20mins and then it was our turn. As usual, because this is our first time, doctor asked us a few questions like allergy and medical history. Then she reassured me a few things like the discharge or the muscle pull. After that we started with th ultrasound and again she explained to us what we are looking at because most of the time I can't tell what I'm looking at! Baby progress is very good. We even manage to see him move his mouth and doing lots of stretching! After the scanning Dr told me that she will send me back to Bangsar Women Specialist and then she will see me again after CNY. Well, as expected the bill came up higher than usual and we were quite surprise that we actually have a CD to bring home. This is what's in the CD
Well there's a lot of clips but one is taking really long to upload and looks blur. Looks like I have to figure out whether can we compress the file.

24 Weeks and 5 Days
According to my iPhone application, today I am officially 24 weeks and 5 days pregnant. It didn't hit me that I am officially in my 6th month until today when I was bored at work and was doing some mental calculation how many months is 24 weeks and it hit me!
Wow.... time really flies I must say. I still can't believe that I am 6 months pregnant! It felt like I haven't done a lot of things especially my exercise routine! I was very adamant to do yoga at home but I only manage to do it twice. Swimming only once so far... but to console myself I did lots of walking since the day I was confirmed pregnant. Hubby been very nice to accompany me to ensure I fullfill my walking exercise on a weekly basis. Every weekend without failed we will walk for hours in a shopping mall from Mid Valley to Pavillion to Sunway Pyramid and even Carrefour! I told myself I must swim at least once a week starting from tomorrow. :)
Well, we also manage to shop a few large items for our baby. Hubby decided that we should start buying gradually so that he doesn't feel the pinch so much. We have bought so far :-
1. Inglesina Zippy Stroller...this stroller only requires one hand to operate which is the reason why we bought it.
2. Baby Cot with latex matress (it comes with one free bedding set by the way)
3. Playpen
4. Fisherprice infant to toddler bouncer
5. Baby bath tub with netting and hubby purposely buy a stainless steel stand from Ikea for me so that I don't have to squat and hurt my back while bathing baby
6. A cupboard from Ikea to put baby's stuff
I think that's about it. Hopefully, from now till my due date we are only left with the car seat which I am thinking whether should we buy from newborn or wait till he is 6months old and smaller items like bottles, clothes, sterilizer etc.
Can't imagine what it will be like when baby is here and definitely can't wait for my next check up on Friday to see my baby progress.
